For some Intended parents baby exit process is a cumbersome. However, we will guide you through the procedure so that you can comfortably take your surrogacy baby back from India. Here are some of the steps that intended parents need to follow while taking your baby back home. For local intended parents they require to follow only first two steps.

Getting Baby Birth Certificate

Our clinic facilitates the baby exit process by sending the birth records of the baby to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The registration of birth will be made on the day the physical form of reporting the birth is submitted to MCD. The Birth certificate then can be obtained from the Citizen Service Bureau. For intended parents from outside India, the Birth Certificate is further sent for getting Apostille Sticker to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The entire process usually takes one week from the date of birth of the baby.

DNA Testing based on ICMR guidelines

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Guidelines, baby born to a surrogate mother should have a genetic link with either one parent. DNA testing of the baby is required by the embassies to grant citizenship and passport to the baby. The process usually takes 8-14 days as per the expedition of the embassy.

Citizenship and Passport (Only for IPs outside India)

If you are an intended parent from outside India, then after the issuance of Birth Certificate, an Application is filed for Citizenship and issue of Passport at the respective Embassy along with required documents.

FRRO and Exit Visa (Only for IPs outside India)

After the issuance of Passport, an Application is filled with Ministry of Home affairs (MHA) for Exit Visa and then to Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for exit clearance. For taking your child born in India back to your home country, you need to have all the documents.
